Backstage, nach ihrem legendären Auftritt im Zürcher Volkshaus im Rahmen des Rock Highway Finals 2009, waren sich die fünf Glarner Jungs einig:
“Gigs in dieser Grösse müssen Standard werden!“
Inspiriert von Bands und Künstlern wie: Jimi Hendrix, Defunkt, Victor Wooten, Incubus, RHCP, Omars Choice, T.O.P, Wolfmother usw. erschaffen Grilled Elephant seit Januar 2009 einen vor Energie strotzenden Soundmix, den man wohl am besten mit FUNKROCKPOP umschreibt. (Dabei hat man jedoch den unzähligen kleineren und grösseren musikalischen Ausflügen in Sparten wie Indie, Jazz, Metal usw. noch keine Rechnung getragen!)
Aus Freude am Musizieren, um Kontakte zu knüpfen und neutrale Feedbacks auf Songs zu erhalten, unternimmt Grilled Elephant hie und da einen Roadtrip und präsentiert ihr Set einem total fremden Publikum auf Trottoirs, Parks und öffentlichen Plätzen. Aus diesen Erfahrungen entstand als Kontrast zum mit Starkstrom grillierten Elefanten eine akustische und gemütlich schonend gegarte Variante.
Akustisch wie verstärkt besticht die Band live durch Originalität, hohe Professionalität, eine ungeheure Freude am Spielen und die Fähigkeit diese auch aufs Publikum zu übertragen.
Momentan wird eine Fünf-Track Demo aufgenommen und Videomaterial geschnitten. Es werden fleissig neue Songs geschrieben, neue Dancemoves einstudiert und die Band bringt sich in Form für die kommende Open-air Saison.

Inspired by Artists and Bands like: Jimi Hendrix, Defunkt, Victor Wooten, Incubus, RHCP, Omars Choice, T.O.P, Wolfmother, etc. Grilled Elephant create since January 2009 an energetic soundmix, which (if you neglect minor & major musical journeys into Indie, Jazz, Metal, etc.) would best be described as FUNKROCKPOP.
To have fun, make new contacts and to get a neutral feedback, Grilled Elephant occasionally do a roadtrip & present their set to a total unknown audience in the streets of different cities. Over time developed out of these experiences, in contrast to the with high voltage roasted elephant, an acoustic, more carefully refined version.
Anyway, acoustic and amplified this band stands out due to originality, professionalism, enormous joy playing their instruments and the ability to share it with the whole audience.
At the moment Grilled Elephant are busy recording a Five-Track Demo, cutting video material, writing new songs, learning new dance moves and getting fit for the coming Open-air Season.
